An Amazing Last Month

Well the last month had been pretty busy. After we got setteled into our new home I had to start back going to work. I have to say work isnt so bad. I have great NCO's who are really going to work with me to get me on the right track Im happy and Kasons happy and thats what matters most. :)

In April I started talking to a guy I met online who already lived in Kansas. His name is Jordan and he's amazing. We had felt such strong connections to each other before meeting and then we met and it was over for us. He's quickly become my best friend and Kason and him get along great. We both work super long hours and hardly ever see each other during the week but spend pretty much the whole weekend together. Life is really starting to look up for Kason and I.

This past weekend we all went to the Circus in Topeka. Thats right Jordan came with us and I was so happy he did...so was Kason.

It was an awesome outing.

The weekend before that Auntski Chrissy came for a visit. Another HAPPY moment in the Skibinski household.

We had some fun adventures at the Manhattan Zoo...the Fire department came and was spraying water out of the house for the kids. Then we also went out to Kansas City to Schliterbahn Waterpark for the day right before Auntski left.

I finally got all of my house hold goods 2 weeks ago too. Our house is finally a home and we love it, I have my bed back and Kason has all of his toys.

I made that. :)

My Korean Cabinet made it safe and sound. :)

Well thats all I have for now. Much love.

The Frugal Mom

I am learning how to become more frugal. My bank account is gonna be down in the dumps for a little while as I try to recover from this move. So money saving is IMPORTANT! The first step I made in my frugalness was by making my own laundry detergent...

Spent less than $15 for all of that and now I have 6-9 months worth of laundry detergent.

The hardest part of making it was shredding the soap. But the rest of it was fun. Our clothes smell better than ever and feel softer than ever! I will no longer be buying laundry detergent ever again!

Our New Home

Well we finally moved into our Apartment yesterday. It's beautiful, perfect, roomy, and I just LOVE it. It's in a quiet neighborhood the apartment complex is literally a block long. It's about 5-10 minutes away from base. It's kind of in a secluded area. For like 4 miles you see nothing but hills and fields. We are actually in the Flint Hills of Kansas. It's just awesome! Kason loves the apartment too lots of room for him to move about unlike in our one in Korea which was just a dump.

This is the front door.

Our living room

The Kitchen and laundry room is at the very end. It's not apart of my kitchen anymore. Lol it's in it's own room and we have a wash basin. :)

The dining room. I can't wait to put my table in there.

Kason's/guest bathroom

Guest room

Kason's room

Some of my room. Lol it's actually much bigger. With a huge bathroom and walk in closet. :)

That concrete is our back patio....we basically have a back yard. :)

The community pool

The play ground. :) it's a little over a year old.

Well that's our place so far. Once all of our stuff gets here from Korea I'll be sure to post pics. It should hopefully be here in a couple weeks. We have one shipment coming today but it doesn't have much just clothes, army gear, some toys, and dishes.

Much love

First Days in Kansas

Hello Everyone...Im back in the blogosphere world but this time Im blogging from a much different place. Instead of Korea we are in Kansas now. I promise this time I am going to work hard on making sure I update this at least once a week.

Well Kason and I drove all the way down to Kansas on Wednesday the 4th of July and are staying at nice little hotel on base. Let me tell you all Fort Riley is HUGE bigger than For Jackson and Yongsan combined. Its taking some time to getting used to but I do know how to get to Main Post Chapel, my office, the PX/Commissary, Hotel and as of now those are really the places that matter the most. For months I had been doing house/apartment hunting knowing that I did not want to be living in a hotel for very long. I had found a cute little Apartment complex that has absolutely no negative reviews online whatsoever. Its very small...only a block long and the buildings are only 2 stories each. Well first thing Thursday I went to go check them out. They also have town homes available. I looked at both the 2 bedroom town home and the 3 bedroom apartments. I did LOVE the town home but I really like the idea of having an extra bedroom and the minute I walked into the 3 bedroom apartment I fell in LOVE. It has a large Laundry room and a nice big pantry. But my absolute favorite part of it is that the back has an open patio to a field...its like our nice little backyard. Lots of room for Kason to play. I immediately signed the lease on Thursday. Our little home is just PERFECT and we move in Monday. I promise I'll post pictures of it after we have all of our furniture and stuff by the end of the month hopefully. Another great thing about this place is that its very secluded...almost in the middle of nowhere but civilization is only like a 5 minute drive away and its about 10 minutes away from post. A good distance away.

Yesterday I went shopping for a dinning room table...something I was really anxious to get after not having one for 2 years. I'm very excited to start enjoying meals at a table with my sweet boy VS sitting on the couch.  I got the table I've been wanting for a long time...Isn't it beautiful?! :)

Well thats all I have for now. Ill try to post all about our leave soon I promise.

Much Love
